Brave Pomeranian Evicts Bear from Vancouver Home in Viral Clip
Fearless Pomeranian Chases Black Bear from Owner’s Home
A startling encounter captured by a home security camera in Vancouver has gone viral, showcasing a brave 3-year-old Pomeranian named Scout as he chases a black bear out of his owner’s house.
According to Scout’s owner, Kayla Kleine, the bear is a regular guest in their yard, often roaming nearby but never crossing the threshold of their home. However, on this particular occasion, an open door lured the bear inside, leading it directly to Scout’s breakfast as it sniffed around the small dog’s food bowl.
The situation escalated quickly in a now-famous TikTok video shared by Kleine. Scout, hearing the commotion, burst into action, charging at the bear with a series of fierce barks. In a remarkable display of courage, despite being only 5 pounds compared to the bear’s several hundred, Scout chased the startled bear through the doorway, onto the deck, and over the fence until it vanished from view.
Unaware of the unfolding drama, Kleine was in another room, listening to music, until she heard the distinct sound of Scout’s food bowl sliding across the floor. Initially thinking her dog was simply playful, she soon realized the seriousness of the situation and grabbed her bear spray before rushing to investigate. What she found was her tiny dog bravely standing between the bear and the rest of the house, ready to defend his territory.
Kleine noted that the bear had been inside their home for approximately four minutes before Scout intervened. She acknowledged that the outcome could have been drastically different if her dog hadn’t acted so swiftly and decisively. A follow-up video on her TikTok account shows Scout patrolling the backyard afterwards, proudly asserting his dominance as if to ensure the bear wouldn’t dare return.
This daring confrontation has garnered Scout widespread acclaim from viewers worldwide. The viral video has amassed millions of views and attracted thousands of comments, with many praising the little dog’s extraordinary bravery. One user humorously remarked, “Do either one of them know what type of animal they are?” while another noted, “He jumped all the steps. Was on a mission.”
What could have turned into a dangerous and potentially tragic event concluded safely, thanks to a courageous Pomeranian with an enormous heart and a remarkable sense of duty.
