Privacy Policy

Who we are BRSPet (brspet.com, “we”, “us”) is an online publication about pets: dogs, cats, birds, fish and the small companions that share our homes. Your trust matters to us, so this page explains, in plain language, what information passes through our site, why we keep it and what control you have over it. By browsing brspet.com you accept the practices described here. If something on this page does not sit right with you, please stop using the site or write to us first — we are happy to clarify. What information we gather We keep data collection light. Most visitors simply read our articles, and we never ask for an account to do that. Details you choose to share with us • Your name and e-mail address when you leave a comment, sign up for updates or reach out through our contact form. • The text of any message or comment you send. Details gathered automatically while you browse • Technical data your browser hands over on its own: IP address, browser type, device model, operating system and preferred language. • Browsing activity on our pages: which articles you open, how long you stay, the page that led you here and the approximate region you connect from. • Identifiers stored in cookies or similar tools (see the cookie section below). We do not knowingly request sensitive details such as health records, financial account numbers or government ID numbers. Please do not post them in comments. How we put it to use Everything we gather serves one of these purposes: • Keeping brspet.com online, fast and protected against spam, bots and abuse. • Learning which pet topics readers enjoy so we can write more of them. • Showing advertising that pays for free content. • Publishing and moderating the comments you post. • Replying to questions and sending updates you asked for. • Meeting legal duties and defending our rights when required. We never sell your personal information for money. Cookies and similar tools Cookies are tiny text files your browser saves so a website can recognize it on a later visit. Pixels, local storage and device identifiers work in a similar way. On brspet.com they fall into three groups: Type What it does Can you turn it off? Essential Keeps the site working, remembers comment details and blocks spam Only by leaving the site Measurement Counts visits and shows which pages perform well Yes Advertising Chooses ads and limits how often you see the same one Yes You can erase or block cookies at any time through your browser settings, and where the law requires it we ask for your consent through a banner before non-essential cookies load. Blocking them may cause some parts of the site to behave differently. Advertising partners Ads keep BRSPet free to read. We work with outside advertising companies, which may include Google and other ad networks. These partners may place their own cookies or web beacons on your device to measure how ads perform and to show promotions that fit your interests, based on your visits here and to other websites. • Google uses the DoubleClick cookie for this purpose. You can switch off personalized Google ads at Google Ad Settings. • You can refuse interest-based ads from many networks at once through YourAdChoices or, in Europe, Your Online Choices. Each partner handles data under its own privacy notice. BRSPet has no access to, or control over, the cookies these companies set. Visitor statistics We rely on analytics services, such as Google Analytics, to see aggregated trends: how many people visit, from which countries and which articles they read. These reports describe groups of readers, not individuals. To stop Google Analytics from recording your visits, install the Google Analytics opt-out add-on. Comments, updates and messages • Comments: when you comment, we store your name, e-mail, IP address and browser string to fight spam. Your name and comment become public; your e-mail never does. An automated anti-spam service may check your comment. If you use Gravatar, a scrambled version of your e-mail may be sent to that service to display your picture. • E-mail updates: if you subscribe, we only use your address to send the updates you requested. Every message carries an unsubscribe link. • Contact form: we use what you send only to answer you, and we delete the conversation once it is no longer needed. Sharing, storage and safety We pass information only to parties that help us run the site: our hosting company, the advertising and analytics partners named above, anti-spam and e-mail services. Each receives only what its job requires. We may also disclose information if a court or authority lawfully demands it, or if BRSPet changes ownership. Comments and their related data stay as long as the comment is published. Contact messages are kept only while we need them. Analytics and advertising data follow the retention periods of each partner. The site runs over an encrypted HTTPS connection, and access to our dashboard is restricted. Still, no online system is fully immune to breaches, so we cannot promise absolute security. Your choices and rights Wherever you live, you may ask us to show, correct or erase the personal information we hold about you, and to stop using it for advertising. Depending on your location, the law grants additional protections: • Europe and the UK (GDPR): we process data based on your consent, our legitimate interest in running and funding the site, or a legal duty. You may object to processing, restrict it, take your data elsewhere, withdraw consent at any time and complain to your local data protection authority. • California (CCPA/CPRA): you may learn what categories of data we collect, request deletion, and opt out of the “sale” or “sharing” of personal information for targeted ads. We will never treat you differently for using these rights. • Brazil (LGPD): you may confirm whether we process your data, access it, correct it, anonymize or delete it, learn with whom it is shared and revoke consent. To use any of these rights, e-mail us at the address below. We reply within 30 days and may ask you to confirm your identity first. Young readers BRSPet is written for a general audience and is not aimed at children under 13 (under 16 in parts of Europe). We do not knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child has sent us data, contact us and we will remove it promptly. Links to other websites Our articles sometimes point to stores, veterinary resources and other outside pages. Once you leave brspet.com, that website’s own privacy rules apply, and we are not responsible for how it handles your data. Updates to this policy We may revise this page as our site, our partners or the law change. The date at the top always shows the latest version. Continuing to use the site after an update means you accept the revised terms. Get in touch Questions, requests or concerns about your privacy? Write to us at brspet0@gmail.com.
